I have been using Quickbooks for years but only recently started using it with our construction company. Since the structure of our two business was so different I needed assistance with setting up Quickbooks for Contracting.The book 'helps' but certainly is not the answer. It gave me a good starting point for setting up estimates and paying/tracking subcontractors. It is imperative that you know Quickbooks inside and out before purchasing this book. Furthermore, note that this book is for the Desktop installed version - not the web version (and further still, it is the Windows version - not Mac...we are 100% Mac so things are a bit different).Regardless the book is helpful but like any book, don't expect it to give you all the answers.
Members of our organization have taken the QuickBooks courses that Craig Kershaw teaches and find his books to be very well done with lots of useful tips. This book gives the reader clear and concise ways to customize QuickBooks for a construction company.
