Richard Rogers, PhD, ABPP, is Regents Professor of Psychology at the University of North Texas. His contributions to research on malingering and other response styles have been recognized by national awards from the American Academy of Forensic Psychologists, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Psychological Association, and the Society of Clinical Psychology (Division 12 of the American Psychological Association). He is the developer of widely used instruments, including the Structured Interview of Reported Symptoms (SIRS), a leading test for the evaluation of malingering.

Dr. Rogers has once again compiled a superb collection of scholarly articles on diverse areas of malingering assessment. I literally have referred to this text dozens of times since I purchased it. It was a major source of information for a paper I recently wrote that concerned, in part, assessment of dissimulation in forensic disability evaluations. I also recently read the chapter, Assessment of Recovered and False Memories, which helped me better understand a complex, challenging case. Rogers' introductory chapters will provide you with a sophisticated understanding of the principles, assessment approaches, and research strategies related to detecting significant exaggeration and feigning of mental disorders (in addition to similar information on the detection of defensiveness or under-reporting). I highly recommend this essential reference.

Excellent book recommended to me by a practicing clinical psychologist with his own private practice reaching out to the Latino population in Hartford CT. It helps to understand individuals and their own issues. Book arrived on time and in brand new. Great price too.

This is clearly the definitive text for anyone interested in this particular topic. However, BE WARNED: THE KINDLE EDITION THAT IS ADVERTISED ON THIS WEB PAGE IS NOT THE 3RD EDITION PICTURED HERE; IT IS THE SECOND AND NOW OUT OF DATE EDITION. Oh well, LOL!! Talk about irony!!
